Story
I have seen too many people pass away from diseases that with the right funding, research is close to having answers that could have saved them.
Already this year I have lost 3 friends in the space of a month, all leaving behind partners and young families.
This Bridge to Brisbane I want to raise funds for QIMR Berghofer - not just because I work here, but because it has helped me to see how hard these researchers are working to save our loved ones, and how hard it is for them to get the funds to do it. If I can help in some small way - then I will honour those already lost and those currently battling.
For race day, I will be sewing ribbons on my QIMR Berghofer race shirt with names on them. The names of those I love who are currently battling, or have lost their battle. They will be my inspiration to keep walking even if I get tired!
Anyone that donates to my page - I will attach a ribbon to my shirt for you and if you wish, put the name of someone you wish to honour. In your comment just put their name and I will write it on the ribbon and wear it with pride on race day.
Together we can make a big impact.
