Story
Hey everyone
This year I am making a difference by participating in Bridge to Brisbane and walking for a cause.
In 2021/2022 my health took a turn for the worse resulting in three separate surgeries. First was to treat MALS (Median Acute Ligament Syndrome). Second was for a Laparoscopic cholecystectomy + IOC. Third was for breast cancer. Followed by a diagnosis of a lung disease called micobacterium intracellulare - non TB. My journey to overcome all this brought with it some challenges that I have had to adapt to live with. I wasn’t able to complete the treatment for the lung disease due to not tolerating the medication so I am currently being monitored for this by my respiratory specialist.
So this year I have decided to challenge myself to participate in the bridge to Brisbane to gain further strength in my recovery journey and to also give back to the community by fundraising for my chosen charity “the cancer council QLD”.
