Run for the Rock!
Hi everyone,
I'm running Bridge to Brisbane this year and hoping to raise funds for a friend and colleage, Petros.
Petros is from a country where it is illegal to follow Jesus as a Christian. His home country ranks in the top ten of Open Doors' World Watch list, which highlights the top 50 most dangerous places to be a Christian. Petros found new life in Jesus during his long ordeal to take refuge (with his family) in Australia. Jesus radically changed his life and he's now a faithful and fruitful colleague, and brother in the Lord. Listening to his stories is like listening to someone straight from the book of Acts. Petros, which is a play on words of Peter & Rock in Greek, is his public ministry name because the Lord is proving the truth of the above verse in and through his life. He's said there is nothing that can stop the Lord from finding people wherever they are and giving them new life (the gates of hell stand no chance against the life-giving goodness of the Lord). Even though the Lord is using him in powerful ways, his support levels remain extremely low. Fundraising Worker: Petros #55071 -Petros works alongside SIM Australia's cross-cultural ministry team, Across. The team shares the Gospel among the ethnic communities living in Australia and back into their home countries, making disciples of Jesus. Petros comes from a place where it is dangerous to be a Christian but continues to minister to his people faithfully with a passion for seeing God's Kingdom built up.
About SIM Australia Convinced that everyone needs to hear the Gospel, our heart is to make disciples of Jesus in communities where He is least known. We partner with local Australian churches in equipping and sending out cross-cultural gospel workers, with a variety of skills and talents, to serve in a diverse range of ministries.
